Songwriters Showcases of America's "2010 MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR"

Jeremy Birdsall has been committed to the professional music industry on every level for over 20 years.

Born the first of eight siblings into a musical and theatrical family, Jeremy’s passion for music was indelibly instilled in him at a very early age.  After years of lessons on piano, guitar, and bass guitar, as well as performing with numerous bands throughout his high school years, he determined that, for him, there was no other option than to pursue a higher musical education.

Jeremy received his Bachelor's degree in Music Composition in 1998
from the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. While there, every year during the annual Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Jeremy was chosen to work closely with Dr. Hampton, as well as other jazz luminaries including Ray Brown, Diana Krall, Brian Bromberg, and Elvin Jones.  Opportunities such as these were essential in the refinement of Jeremy’s musical skills and abilities, which have led him to become the accomplished composer and performer that he is today.  Jeremy composes for voice and all string, brass, wind, percussion, and electronic instruments.  He specializes in composing for and performing on guitar, bass, piano, and drums, as well as several slightly more obscure stringed instruments, including Chapman Stick and sitar.

Shortly after receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Jeremy relocated to Miami, Florida, where he composed, recorded, and produced with Grammy Award-winning producer and bassist, Rick Finch of KC and the Sunshine Band.  Under his mentorship, Jeremy mastered vital technical skills, including resourceful engineering and professional production in both analog and digital environments.  Adding these critical skills to Jeremy’s expansive musical repertoire laid the foundation for the establishment of his corporation, which would implement his vision of revolutionizing the standard approach to the traditional music industry model.

In 2000, Jeremy founded Kavode, Inc., a multi-faceted entertainment industry consortium that includes Kavode Studios (a full-service recording studio facility) and Kavode Records (an independent record label).  Kavode, Inc.’s mission is to provide a revolutionary approach to professional management, production, and distribution. He also owns Kavode Entertainment, Inc., an event promotions and entertainment consulting firm. As President of these companies, Jeremy has assumed multiple roles including producer, manager, composer, and multi-instrumentalist with various rock, pop, alternative, folk, jazz, techno, hip-hop, and industrial artists.  He has also functioned as recording engineer, front-of-house and monitor engineer, lighting technician, artist/press relations representative, and event promoter.
